People Leadership Journey by Blanchard is a practical leadership development program that brings together Wiley’s Everything DiSC® and Blanchard’s Building Trust, SLII®, and Coaching Essentials® programs into one connected learning journey.
The journey progresses from self-awareness and interpersonal understanding to building trust, adapting your leadership, applying new skills in practice, and having coaching conversations.

One approach to leadership does not fit every situation.
People are different, and the same person’s needs can change depending on the goal or task. Leaders therefore need to understand people, build relationships based on trust, and recognize the amount of direction and support people need to succeed.
People Leadership Journey develops these capabilities through one connected learning journey.
During the program, you develop your ability to:
- understand your own behavior and different ways people work and interact
- build and restore trust

1. Understand yourself and others
Everything DiSC®
The learning journey begins with self-awareness and understanding different ways people behave and interact.
Wiley’s Everything DiSC® helps you understand your own behavioral style and recognize and appreciate the different ways people work and interact.
This provides a foundation for more effective interactions and the learning that follows.

People Leadership Journey is not a collection of separate training programs. Each stage develops skills that support the next.
The journey begins with understanding yourself and others. It then moves to building trust and learning how to recognize people’s different leadership needs and adapt your leadership accordingly. You apply the skills in real leadership situations before developing your ability to support people through coaching conversations.
Finally, you bring the learning together and consider how you will continue applying the skills in your leadership.
2. Build relationships based on trust
Building Trust
Trust is the foundation of an effective relationship. Building Trust provides a practical framework for understanding, assessing, and building trust.
You learn to recognize behaviors that build or erode trust, strengthen trust through your own behavior, and restore trust when it has been damaged.
Trust creates a foundation for open conversations about what people need from their leaders.

3. Recognize what people need and adapt your leadership
SLII®
People need different amounts of direction and support depending on their competence and commitment in relation to a specific goal or task.
SLII® helps develop three key leadership skills: Goal Setting, Diagnosing, and Matching.
You learn to identify what a person needs in relation to a specific goal or task and provide the appropriate amount of direction and support.
SLII® also creates a common language that helps leaders and their direct reports have more open conversations about leadership needs.
The SLII® learning experience includes the Leader Behavior Analysis II® (LBAII®) self-assessment.

4. Put your learning into practice
Guided application
Leadership skills develop through practice.
Following the SLII® training, you apply what you have learned to real leadership situations. You practice identifying people’s different leadership needs and adapting the amount of direction and support you provide.
The aim is to strengthen the use of the new approach in your day-to-day leadership.

5. Develop people through better conversations
Coaching Essentials®
Leading people happens through conversations.
Coaching Essentials® develops a coaching mindset, process, and conversation skills that you can use to support people’s performance and development.
You practice four essential skills: listening to learn, asking questions that generate insight, sharing relevant information and perspectives, and expressing confidence in the other person.
SLII® helps you identify what a person needs, while Coaching Essentials® deepens the skills needed for development-focused conversations.

6. Bring your learning together
Learning journey conclusion
At the end of the learning journey, you bring together your most important learning and reflect on your development as a leader.
How do you better understand yourself and others? How do you build trust? How do you recognize people’s leadership needs and adapt your leadership? How do you use coaching skills?
Finally, you consider how you will continue applying what you have learned in your leadership.

Cancellation Policy
Participation may be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the training program.
For cancellations made less than 14 days before the start of the training program, we will charge 50% of the training fee. If participation is not cancelled before the training begins, 100% of the training fee will be charged.
No refunds will be provided for training that is discontinued after it has started.
